Expert trade secret CIPO
Chris Buntel, PhD, JD
"I like patents but love trade secrets. They don't get the love and attention that patents, trademarks, and copyrights get. They deserve better care, especially with improved protection and higher damages becoming available."
About
Chris Buntel is a US intellectual property attorney with over 25 years of experience connecting innovation with IP law. His career has given him deep expertise across the full spectrum of intellectual property, but his true passion lies in trade secrets, an area he believes has been overlooked for far too long. Chris holds a PhD in Chemistry from Stanford University and a JD in Law from the University of Houston.
Why Tangibly
After decades of practicing IP law, Chris recognized a glaring gap: while patents, trademarks, and copyrights had mature ecosystems of tools and support, trade secrets had almost nothing. Companies were sitting on enormous value with no real way to manage or protect it. He co-founded Tangibly to close that gap, building a trade secret management and consulting platform that brings structure, education, and best practices to an area that desperately needs them. With Tangibly's expansion into litigation financing, Chris brings his deep legal expertise to help companies not only identify and protect their trade secrets, but enforce their rights when misappropriation occurs.
