Thanks to new management and creation tools like this, building and effectively protecting trade secrets portfolios is a much more realistic proposition for a far wider range of entities than ever before. What used to be time consuming and expensive to do is now far less onerous. Given the difficulties in securing effective, enforceable patent protection in many technologies, and as many key jurisdictions roll-out trade secrets legislation, that is bound to have a significant impact on the way in which IP is seen and deployed. This is not only a big deal for rights holders, but also their legal advisers and those who provide services to both. We are living in disruptive times!
